San Antonio Zoo

3.11.23

Brittany and Blake’s wedding at the beautiful San Antonio Zoo was a unique and extraordinary affair. As animal lovers and supporters of the zoo, they were determined to find a venue that would reflect their love for nature and provide an unforgettable experience for their guests. This event truly showcased the couple’s love, enthusiasm, and vibrant personalities.

Brittany’s aspiration for a non-traditional space led me and the couple to explore options outside the typical ballroom setting. Given their devotion to the zoo and its philanthropic importance to their families, choosing the San Antonio Zoo as their venue was a natural choice. Not only was this a massive San Antonio wedding, but it was also the first time the zoo hosted an event of this magnitude, making it all the more extraordinary.

One of the highlights of the wedding planning process was collaborating with the amazing design team at Statue of Design to perfectly capture Brittany’s love for vibrant colors. From stationery and rentals to florals, a delightful palette was curated to complement the couple’s chosen theme. Working closely with Brittany, I wanted to ensure that every detail intricately reflected their personalities, creating a stunningly beautiful ambiance that flowed seamlessly throughout the event.

The wedding party was a grand affair, with 18 bridesmaids and 21 groomsmen standing alongside the couple. To make the day truly unforgettable, we incorporated the zoo’s mesmerizing venues and attractions into the celebration. The cocktail hour took place in the enchanting Hippo’s Den, where guests mingled amidst the captivating atmosphere. The couple’s love for fun was further accentuated by having the carousel open for guests to enjoy, adding a touch of joy and nostalgia to the occasion.

A peak moment of the evening was the second line procession, which began at the Hippo’s Den and wound its way past the flamingos and the lively carousel, leading everyone to the event lawn. To add an element of surprise and excitement, the father of the bride collaborated with me to arrange for butterfly stilt walkers and light-up dancers, leaving Brittany thrilled and awestruck by this unexpected treat.

As the evening drew to a close, the send-off became a finale filled with laughter and joy. The couple bid farewell to their loved ones, being whisked away on the zoo train, amidst cheers and well-wishes from family and friends. It was a whimsical and magical end to a truly unforgettable wedding.

From daring color palettes and captivating venues to surprising entertainment and unique experiences, every aspect of their celebration was carefully crafted to leave a lasting impression on their guests. This is a wedding that will be fondly remembered as a joyous and remarkable occasion, where love, nature, and the spirit of adventure came together to create magic. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of this incredible day and I wish Brittney and Blake a lifetime of love, happiness, and fun!
