Private Ranch

05.06.2023

Love was in the air for Chris & Blair’s intimate Texas ranch wedding. Blair began the planning process with a keen vision for her wedding, highlighting the natural beauty of their family ranch, Four Boards Ranch.

Their engagement photos were taken at a breathtaking overlook on the property. The original plan was to host the ceremony at the same spot as the engagement photos. After a site visit to the property, we soon realized the unique opportunity to have a waterfront ceremony with the river flowing through the backyard as the ceremony backdrop. The sound of the running river water became too enticing to turn down, so we moved forward with that choice. Blair and Chris are both involved in the beer distribution industry and wanted to share their love for Budweiser throughout their day.

Guests were greeted at the entry of the house with an impressive fire table from Contigo Catering. It showcased the cowboy ribeye and citrus-brined cornish hen that would soon be part of their reception dinner. Custom-labeled Budweiser bottles adorned tray tables for guests inviting them to bring a bottle to the ceremony. This perfectly captured the down-to-earth nature of Blair and Chris and was the perfect way to set the tone for the evening to come.

As guests made their way through the house to the backyard, they followed the sounds of our acoustic guitar soloist to their seats. Grounded florals at the ceremony allowed for optimal views of the Blanco River behind them. Blair wanted to emphasize a clean, yet rustic, color pallet for her flowers, incorporating dried florals to play into the ranch setting. Gypsy Florals captured this vision perfectly.

Fabulous bites of braised pork shoulder cups, duck confit tostada, and chorizo braised fried quail leg appetizers welcomed guests into cocktail hour. Their signature drinks included a French 75 and Manhattan. Guests took their seats and watched Blair and Chris have their first dance as husband and wife, followed by a few more specialty family dances.

Dinner was served family style giving guests the opportunity to share plates and spark conversation. Live music filled the evening as the sun began to set revealing beautiful candlelight on each table. After they cut their Budweiser cake, Chris’s Chicago roots were celebrated in the best possible way, with a late-night snack of Chicago-style hotdogs.

All eyes were on the starry night sky for the surprise fireworks show to celebrate the couple. It was the perfect ending to an enchanting day. I am elated for Blair and Chris to start their married life together.
