St. Mary Catholic Cathedral & The Mansion

05/24/2025

Taylor and Dante began wedding planning with a clear vision of wanting to have the best time with their friends and family, and bring an elevated Texas feel to their majority out-of-town guests. A beautifully classic color palette of blues and wedding whites was how we began designing the space for the reception held at the Texas Women’s Federation. This amplified the existing historic interiors that drew the couple to fall in love with the space and book it as their reception venue.

Our invitation suite was designed and curated by Pink Champagne Paper Designs, and perfectly captured the blue and white elegance that we were looking for to set the tone for the wedding day.

The wedding party got ready downtown Austin the morning of the wedding. Taylor wore an exquisite Monique Lhuillier dress and veil that was perfectly paired with her Monolo Blahnik white wedding heels. Dante sported a custom embroidered jacket with song lyrics perfectly placed in the liner.

Their wedding ceremony was held at St Mary’s Cathedral on a perfectly bright and beautiful May day in Austin, making for beautiful photos on the steps of the cathedral. The couple left the cathedral in style with a 1958 Rolls-Royce, taking them alongside their photographer, Tailor James Photography, to take portraits around Austin! They made stops at the Governor’s Mansion, UT Austin, and the Capitol before meeting us at the reception to start the party!

Once guests began arriving at the Texas Women’s Federation, we were kicking off the party with a live jazz trio at cocktail hour, and a beautiful display of charcuterie across vintage silver for all to enjoy, as well as passed hors d’oeuvres. While guests enjoyed cocktail hour, I snuck the couple into the reception and got to show off all of the hard work that we had worked on planning together, come to life. This is truly my favorite moment on a wedding day, and something I always treasure.

From the floral runners of white roses to the hydrangea cake meadow, everything was just as lush and dreamy as we had imagined. Seeing Taylor and Dante walk through their tables and look at where their loved ones were soon going to be sitting and having the best reception was just fabulous.

We then kicked off the party! From an amazing plated dinner from Austin Catering, to specialty dances, toasting, to cake cutting, everything was seamless and so much fun to enjoy. The Matchmaker band did a knockout job entertaining us all night, even leading us to a second line send-off. Guests tossed rose petals on the couple and gave their final well-wishes as they went into the rest of the evening.

Looking back on this day brought me so much joy. Taylor and Dante are truly amazing people, and their wedding amplified that tenfold. Working and planning alongside them was an honor. Cheers to the Sestis!

XOXO
