When Kelly and Blake began their journey into wedding planning, two things were crystal clear – their love for the iconic Driskill Hotel and for dueling pianos. As they entrusted me with bringing their vision to life, the goal was not just to enhance the Driskill but also to seamlessly incorporate the lively spirit of dueling pianos into their celebration.

I assembled a top-notch vendor team to turn their dreams into reality. Leading the charge was the renowned David Kurio, whose expertise wowed guests from the moment they entered the reception space. The grand staircase, adorned with dripping orchids, provided the perfect backdrop for capturing the timeless bride and groom photos.

Opting for the elegant ballroom for the ceremony, David’s team crafted an asymmetrical arch that became a highlight of the proceedings. The transition to a dance party during dinner was flawlessly executed, thanks to the Premiere Events team. They transformed the space, installing a dance floor and stage, setting the stage for the perfect party atmosphere.

Dinner was hosted in the beautiful Mezzanine, with tables perfectly arranged and a chandelier adorned with florals that added a touch of glamour. Beneath it, the stunning bridal cake took center stage, while the groom’s cake, a homage to the University of Texas tower, proudly stood on display #hookem.

The night came alive with the musical magic of DART Collective’s DJ, complemented by live percussion that elevated the performance. The fusion of a DJ and a live piece created an unforgettable atmosphere, ensuring the guests danced the night away in celebration.

As the reception drew to a close, the celebration continued in the hidden Citadel room behind the ballroom. This exclusive space became the stage for the afterparty, featuring dueling pianos that turned the night into a musical blast. Laughter, music, and the joy of celebration filled the air, making it a perfect conclusion to a magical evening.
