Jessica and Ruey were such a beautiful couple, and I am so glad I got to be a part of their wedding day. From the very first call, you could feel the excitement they both had to start planning a celebration that would bring their friends and family together in Austin, creating a special night for themselves and their guests at Woodbine Mansion.

The couple prioritized fabulous food throughout the wedding day, with a vision of serving surf and turf inspired stations. We brought on Contigo catering to make it happen, and guests were treated to incredible displays of crab legs, oysters, and, on the land side, prime rib with wild mushroom butter.

I will never forget the call that our photographer, Ann Mark, and I had with the couple to review the final photography timeline a few weeks ahead of the wedding. Ruey was the only one on the call and asked if Ann and I wanted to see a secret. To our surprise, he pulled out a positive pregnancy test and panned the Zoom camera over to Jessica, announcing that they were expecting! We were thrilled! The couple immediately told us their grand plan for announcing the news to their loved ones at the wedding. We made our photo game plan, and, well… the photos speak for themselves. When the couple shared the exciting news with their wedding party, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room, including Ann and I.

It was a true testament to the love Jessica and Ruey have for each other. I am so happy for them. Their wedding day was filled with pure joy and laughter. We ended the night with lion dancers from Summit Lion Dance, which made for some incredible photos!

To close out the evening, the couple enjoyed even more decadent food, sprinkling berries and dusting powdered sugar on top of their millefoglie Italian wedding cake. Big Dog Pyro made the perfect sparkle to the night’s grand finale as Jessica and Ruey made their exit, stepping into life as newlyweds, and soon to be parents!

Congratulations, Jessica and Ruey! You are both amazing people, and I am honored to have been a part of your wedding day.
