St. Marys Cathedral and Woodbine Mansion

04/26/2025

Amelia and Peter began their wedding planning with a clear vision of wanting a classic Father of the Bride-style wedding. Timeless, classic, and elegant moments that are made to withstand the years to come when they look back on their wedding day. Selecting Woodbine Mansion was a perfect backdrop for their vision, with its beautiful white columns and classically decorated getting-ready suites.

Before the ceremony, the bridal party spent their morning separately getting ready at Woodbine and having lovely photos taken of them by their photographer, Sarah Lindholm. From a bridesmaid’s reveal to a very special moment when Amelia and her dad first see each other, we were then off to St Mary’s Cathedral in downtown Austin for the ceremony.

Amelia and her dad were driven in a vintage white Rolls-Royce to St Mary’s where they were able to step out of their car and walk straight through the cathedral doors down the aisle to see Peter for the first time.

A picture-perfect ending to the ceremony happened on the front steps of the cathedral with the newlyweds and their wedding party surrounding them for a photo. Then they were off to Woodbine to continue the celebration! The couple took some photos on the steps of Woodbine’s front doors, then headed upstairs to enjoy a private moment to have a drink and food while their guests made their way into the reception tent.

Guests were wowed by the entrance created by the Wild Bunches floral team. One side of the tent was adorned with a floral border along the top, while the opposite side featured an existing tree enhanced with additional blooms. The reception design focused on an expressed palette of blush, white, and green, with rentals selected to subtly elevate those colors. A playful linen paired with a complementary napkin and standout green water goblet brought the tablescape together for Amelia and Peter.

A grand entrance was made into the tent, where we then had guests enjoy dinner and listen to some toasting. After a few speciality dances, it was time to sneak the couple back inside the mansion to cut the cake with their family watching. Not only did we have a fabulous wedding cake from Polkadots Bakery, but they also honored Peter’s love for Spiderman with his groom’s cake.

Now that the party has begun in the tent, the Matchmaker band is not leaving anyone in their seats. What the guests do not know is that there has been a long-awaited surprise for them from the Jones Family. We had the Kansas City Chiefs mascot run onto the stage and join the party! Both families and many guests are Chiefs fans, and this was such a cool moment for them to take photos with the KC Wolf!

Wrapping up the evening, we had a rose petal send-off out of the front doors of Woodbine for the couple to ride away back in a vintage Rolls-Royce. It was a perfect ending to an amazing day. Two beautiful families came together and celebrated Amelia and Peter, and I had the absolute honor of working alongside them and their family planning and design their special day. Wishing the couple all the best with everything that is to come!

XOXO,

Brittney
