The Arlo

10/15/2023

When I first met with Chris and Tyler, I knew that they had the best priorities for their wedding day. A large number of guests were coming in from out of town, so they wanted to create an inviting environment for their friends and family to enjoy and recognize the intentional Chris & Tyler touches. In addition, they recognized that their friends and family knew how to have a good time, so we prioritized picking an amazing band – The Nightowls! We often get told that wedding guests are going to be a wildly fun bunch, but I can truly say, this was the most crowded/packed dance floor I have ever had!! Consider me impressed with the stamina of Chris and Tyler’s crew.

When thinking back on our design process, I remember Chris & Tyler being very intentional with their choices. They knew that they wanted a modern, timeless, and sleek look for their wedding. We accomplished this by choosing a sharp color scheme of black, grey, and green and sticking to it with all choices. There was one photo that the guys found and loved of a place setting, and we really took that and created their whole wedding aesthetic from it! Some of my favorite design elements from the wedding day were the ceremony set up, mix of dinner tables, and the wardrobes!

As you can see in the photos that follow, the limestone fireplace of The Arlo was the perfect backdrop for our dark green and white ceremony florals. The contrast resembled the sharpness the guys were striving for, and the black chairs popped perfectly against the green turf. Inside, we decided to do a mix of both round and rectangular tables to fill the space. This created some dimension in the design without going crazy with patterns and colors. Lastly, when it came to the wardrobe, not only did the guys kill it with their grey tux selections (how cute are they?!), but so did the guests! All guests were asked to wear either black or white to the wedding, and they did not disappoint. It was so fun to see the outfit choices match with the wedding design to really tie a bow on everything!

Chris and Tyler were some of the sweetest and most fun clients I have ever had the pleasure of working with! Every meeting we had was filled with laughs, and they could not have been happier and more excited to marry each other. I love looking back on this day! Cheers to Mr. & Mr. Alway!!

XOXO,

Tessa
