Private Ranch Wedding

10.16.21

I love, love, love Dorothy Irvine + Adam + the whole Irvine family! The most rewarding part of our job is getting to work with amazing people whom you learn a lot from, but also trust you being creative, and that my friends… is the Irvine family! I feel like once you get into their circle of trust, that’s what you feel, trust! You can trust them and they trust you, and man, did they trust us to pull this wedding together!

Dorothy and her mom, Kendra, are some of the most creative women I have had the pleasure of working alongside. Dorothy owns a graphic design company, and the creative apple doesn’t fall far from the tree! What Dorothy knew for sure was that she was getting married on her family’s pecan ranch, the Rocking K, outside of Temple, Texas. Her main goal from the beginning was that she wanted to bring vibrant color to the ranch that she deeply loves. The first step they took to bring color into the space was that Dorothy and her mom bought a dozen different brightly colored t-shirts and threw them into their field to see what color they were attracted to most! Those t-shirts soon became the inspiration for our whole wedding design and color pallet.

What people don’t know about ranch weddings, or necessarily think about, is that it’s a whole slew of vendors and takes days, even weeks, to produce. We hung out at the ranch for about a week before the wedding to get it all set up and a week after to tear it all down. Our vendor team was up for the amazing challenge of making this dream become a reality.

We placed the ceremony in Dorothy’s favorite part of the Pecan Orchard and used the pecan trees as the backdrop, and it was the most magical ceremony. Guests were welcomed with a pre-ceremony tequila shot at a bar built by the groom, Adam – what a warm welcome! Dorothy’s dress was absolutely stunning. When she jumped out of the car and walked down the colorful rug-lined aisle, it sparkled like crazy and made the most stunning first impression to guests! As if her dress couldn’t get any better, she accessorized with vintage Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader boots! When the ceremony finished, guests were loaded back onto buses and taken to a different part of the ranch where we had the cocktail hour and reception waiting.

It’s hard to describe how intricate and detailed this whole wedding day was, but the cocktail hour and reception were what guests couldn’t stop talking about. Memories were made and many photos were taken. There were lounges from Panacea, Mezcal and Bourbon tasting bars, food trucks and food stations for dinner, unique drinks by Contigo, Hello Trouble Hall, hat steaming, bull riding… guys, it was insane! The night ended with a gorgeous firework show by Big Dog Pyro, which was a complete surprise to Dorothy’s dad, and it was all perfection. Y’all… I’ve been doing this job for 16 years and I was blown away.

Thank you Dorothy + Adam and the Irvine family for allowing us to take part in such a special celebration!

XOXO,
Becky
