Toni + Nick

Toni Denton first walked into our office two years ago to the day. She had JUST picked Vintage Villas as her wedding venue. Over the next year and half we had a great time planning together. Her color choice of royal blue looked stunning with Lake Travis in the background.

Her and her wonderful husband Nick love sweets. It makes sense since they are so sweet! They had a classic wedding cake, cake pops and a candy station. The candy station was a hit!

My favorite memory from Toni and Nick’s wedding was Toni’s face of surprise during the Hora. She was flying out of her chair the guys were lifting her so high!

Congrats and Mazel Tov Toni and Nick!

Lindsay + Jordan

The first time I heard of Lindsay Hyman is when her mother (one of my fave MOB’s ever, Mrs. Laura Hyman!!!) came into my office to talk to me about her twin daughters getting married four months apart. I was so honored to be chosen to work on both weddings.

With Lindsay being from Austin & Jordan being from New York, they wanted to incorporate both cities into their special day. There were cookies at the reception with either I <3 TX or I <3 NY on them. They also had a late night snack that consisted of both fresh breakfast tacos and bagels that had been overnighted from New York City!!! They danced the Hora and the night away with Blind Date. Guests sent the couple off in one of Barton Creek’s golf carts. Congrats Lindsay & Jordan on the wedding!

Striped Linen Love

Add a touch of flair to your wedding with a unique striped linen. You can use striped linen on all your reception tables, or for a more dramatic effect simply use a striped linen to make your head table pop!

Incorporate striped linen into your ceremony & you can even add a hint of color

Try something different by using striped linens on your cocktail tables!

Julia + Brian

Julia and Brian were a super fun couple, so they got a super fun photographer, Cory Ryan. Not only did these two do a first glance at Mean-Eyed Cat, but they also went around downtown Austin taking photos before the wedding. The two live in D.C. and made sure to have a patriotic photo op. The reception was a crazy dance party, be sure to check out all the photographs.

Love, Jessica

Sequins- A Girl’s Best Friend

From linens, to bridesmaid dresses, to cakes; glitter and sequins add that perfect sparkle. Sequins are even making an appearance from the start on save the dates and invitations.

For a glitzy accent at the ceremony, pick some beautiful sequin cocktail dresses for your bridesmaids, or add a sequin accent to the brides dress that can be paired with linens.

If you’re looking to do something understated with sequins, try opting for a sequin accent on the boquet or shoes, some sequins in the centerpieces or some small sequin stir sticks.

Ramie + Shayne

Can’t even deal with how photogenic these two are! Ramie and Shayne were married this past December at Vintage Villas. Their color choices couldn’t have been more perfect. The yellow was so bright and cheerful against a December backdrop. Thank you Concept Photography for the sharing these photos of the lovely couple with us!

Congratulations to Shayne and Ramie!!! Love, Jessica

The Cottage Built for Four

I know posting a blog about my house is odd and out of context on an event planning website.

There are a few reasons why I decided to do this:

1.  One of my fave photographers Jerry Hayes took these photos for us.  He is an awesome details and architectural photographer.
2.  As I have been working with clients this past year they have also heard about my love/hate relationship with building our house and a few have asked how it turned out.
Here you go, I hope you like my personal eclectic taste and feel free to stop by anytime :)

Engagement Season

Proposals can be such an exciting time! Finding out that you get to marry your best friend, celebrating the additions to the family, and having your friends admire your ring. And lets be real, the ring is kind of a big deal. It’s in all of the pictures from this point on. Here are some tips to help your man pick the perfect one, just like he picked you!

Now that the shock of having that ring put on your finger is starting to wear off, the planning begins! While many people may think they don’t need a wedding planner, you may want to consider it. There are so many little details that future brides don’t even realize they might forget, such as how everything (guest book, gifts, etc.) is going to get back to you, knowing what comes next (first dance, toasts), and confirming that all your vendors are actually going to be there.

The day of your wedding can be very hectic, and you want to be able to enjoy it. So let someone else, Pearl Events, worry about all the little details while you sit back and relax and only worry about remembering to say “I do!”

Rebecca + Taylor

Rebecca and Taylor are two of the sweetest people ever. They surround themselves with such loving friends and family, which made their special day such a wonderful celebration. Thanks to Petal Pushers and Pinterest, their wedding was full of little touches that represented both Rebecca and Taylor. Also a special thanks to Magan from Urban Grey for capturing and sharing this wonderful day! XO, Jessica
